The power of foresight
Hello people! Here we feature stories of people in conversation with Naren. When Naren meets people, he invariably gets them to open up for a warm, inspiring, and sometimes rib-tickling conversations. Here’s yet another story about his inspiring mother by Dr. Irfan Cherawala. Sometimes, what our parents do, seems the best thing that could have happened to us, in hindsight.
The story is verbatim, with all the errors that make it real, vulnerable, and gorgeous.
“When I was in the seventh standard, my blind mother used to lock me up in the room for hours together to study and not let me go to play. I used to curse her for that but she persisted, because she was not in a position at that time to afford tuition fees .
Today I am a professional all because of the efforts she took, irrespective of I not agreeing with her and insulting her time and again. She is my role model, my Hero.
This made me realize that like my mother I need to nurture my son keeping the END RESULT in mind irrespective of whatever I need to undergo or face in bringing up my son. It is not what happens now, it is a matter of what has to happen then which is so important in life.
As you have taught us, we need to get the process right and the effects will reverberate.”
